Paterson: There's no grey area with owners on how they want Magpies to play

THE introduction of a technical board at Notts County this season has been a strong topic of conversation as to whether it is the best approach for the club moving forward.
Magpies owners Alex and Chris Reedtz, and head coach Martin Paterson, were asked about how productive it has been so far at the latest fans forum as they reflected on how they have handled recruitment and the first quarter of the season.
Structural changes were made at Notts in tandem with Paterson's arrival as head coach in the off-season, so he has known no different approach while at the club. But he believes the owners' vision suits his way of working.
On the owners' involvement, Paterson said: “I think what they do that is great is that there is no grey area with them, no fluff, they want a way of playing football that wins games, and we work our way back from winning.
“When we don't do that, I'm not above anyone to not explain my decisions and also take suggestions. From that, we speak about players, we speak tactics, substitution strategies, and we just think about how to get better.
