Notts health trusts are among UK's worst, say new figures from the Government

A SCANDAL-HIT NHS trust heavily criticised for its care of Nottingham attacks killer Valdo Calocane is among the worst in the country, according to newly released league tables.

The NHS oversight framework, issued by the Government earlier this week, evaluates various criteria such as financial performance and patient access to treatment, alongside reducing surgical waiting lists and A&E delays, plus enhancing ambulance response times.

The launch of the quarterly tables was announced in November last year, with top performers receiving greater freedoms and funding.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting said the initiative was set to highlight where immediate assistance was required, as well as eliminating the so-called “postcode lottery” of care.

NHS organisations across the country are split into two league tables - acute trust and non-acute trusts.

An acute trust provides short-term, active treatment for urgent conditions with services such as A&E, while non-acute trusts offer longer-term care and services such as mental health support and community care.
