BUSINESSMAN FEARS IMPACT OF CLOSING ACCESS 11 HOURS DAILY
A CITY business owner says new restrictions on a station footbridge could still harm his trade.
East Midlands Railway (EMR) has confirmed that new rules will come into force on August 18 restricting the use of the footbridge at Nottingham's railway station.
Although the new restrictions are watered down from than original plans, the businessman said they could still harm evening trade and make it difficult to justify opening later.
Earlier closures proved controversial. Nottingham City Council leader Councillor Neghat Khan wrote to EMR warning that the company would face “reputational damage”.
