Magpies ready for play-offs after loss to champs
Nottingham Post
|May 05, 2025
HEAD coach Stuart Maynard has urged Notts County to "bounce back again" as they head into the League Two play-offs.
-
The Magpies finished sixth following their 2-1 home defeat against champions Doncaster Rovers in their final regular season game.
It means the Magpies will face fifth-placed AFC Wimbledon in the play-offs.
Meadow Lane will stage the first leg on Saturday, May 10 (8pm) before the trip to Wimbledon for the second leg on Saturday, May 17 (12.30pm).
On Saturday, Doncaster clinched the title as Rob Street's first-half brace earned Rovers a 2-1 win at Meadow Lane.
Street opened the scoring from point-blank range in the 19th minute after Jordan Gibson's blocked effort had fallen kindly at his feet.
Nine minutes later, he brought Jamie Sterry's aerial delivery under control before racing clear to lob Alex Bass to make it 2-0
