LATE WINNER AFTER ARNAUD STRIKES AGAIN FOR VISITORS
Nottingham Post
|December 13, 2025
IT took Igor Jesus only 82 seconds to secure Nottingham Forest's first away win in Europe since 1995.
And if the Reds do go all the way in the Europa League, the Brazilian striker will have played a huge part in getting them there. Thursday night's crucial 88th-minute goal against Utrecht was his fourth in the competition.
Up until the summer signing’s introduction, it had looked as though Sean Dyche’s side would have to settle for a draw in the Netherlands. Arnaud Kalimuendo's opener had been cancelled out by Mike van der Hoorn and time was ticking.
Super sub Jesus ensured Forest returned to the UK with a big three points, boosting their hopes of finishing in the top eight and going straight through to the knockout stages.
Here’s a look at some of the big talking points from the Reds’ 2-1 triumph at the Stadion Galgenwaard.
Strikers scoring
With Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi still out, Jesus and Kalimuendo are sharing the minutes up front.
A second Europa League goal for the latter will do his confidence the world of good but it is his teammate who is proving to be a real find.
Jesus’ trademark Kamehameha celebration got another airing on Thursday as he let out a mighty roar after finding the back of the net. He has certainly got to grips with life at Forest since his move from Botafogo.
