Lane closures on A52 to study cause of flood

LANES are being closed on a stretch of the A52 in Nottinghamshire as investigations take place to find out why the road was severely affected by flooding.

National Highways will be closing various lanes in both directions across several dates in November, starting from Monday.
The affected stretch of the A52 lies between the Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft Island roundabouts, where a car had to be rescued on January 6 after severe flooding.
The flooding came on a day that saw 50 flood warnings and alerts being issued across
Nottinghamshire but the area's MP said the A52 flooding still came as a “surprise”.
