STRIKER OFF THE BENCH IN VICTORY AGAINST ROVERS

- By SAM ALLEN

MARTIN Paterson was pleased to see a key player return to action for Notts County at the weekend as he takes stock of the squad’s strength at the end of the summer transfer window.

Alassana Jatta came off the bench for the Magpies in their 2-1 victory away against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, making his first competitive appearance since his dismissal in the League Two playoff semifinal first leg defeat against AFC Wimbledon in May.

He linked up well with new strike partner Matthew Dennis, who continued his great goalscoring start to the campaign for Notts since arriving this summer. He scored the equaliser on Saturday, his fifth League goal in only six games.
