Inquest into loving dad's stab death

AN inquest has opened into the death of a devoted father in a street attack.

James Cook, 40, was fatally stabbed in Castle Gate, Newark, at 11.53pm on April 30.
A 22-year-old man, Brandon Byrne, of Winston Court, Newark, has been charged with his murder. He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court last week and was remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance.
The inquest opened at Nottingham Coroners' Court yesterday.
