GUIDELINES BREACHED ON PROLONGED USE OF POWER TOOLS
A HOUSING provider owned by Nottingham City Council has been fined £32,000 after workers were diagnosed with health conditions.
Nottingham City Homes, an arms-length company owned by the council, was the subject of an investigation by the national workplace health and safety regulator after staff were left with vibration-related conditions such as Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).
The Health and Safety Executive had received more than ten reports of vibration-related ill-health in a short period of time by workers from Nottingham City Homes, which managed the council's social housing from 2005 until 2023.
