A CASE FOR PORTUGUESE TO LEAD LINE AFTER IMPRESSING OFF BENCH AGAINST VILLA?
-
IT is set to be a thrilling end to the season for Nottingham Forest as they continue to fight on two fronts.
Third in the Premier League table, the Reds have Champions League qualification in their own hands with seven games to go. They also have an FA Cup semi-final with Manchester City at Wembley later this month.
Bouncing back from defeat at Aston Villa will be the aim for Nuno Espirito Santo's side when they play Everton at the City Ground on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Reds reporter Sarah Clapson has opened up her notebook on the latest goings-on Trentside...
BATTLE FOR EUROPE
Arsenal's 3-0 win over Real Madrid on Tuesday night means the Premier League is set to be given a fifth spot in the Champions League next season through UEFA's coefficient rankings.
But there is a fierce battle to get over the line, with plenty of clubs in the mix. Chelsea and Newcastle United are now just four points adrift of Forest, with the latter having a game in hand. Manchester City, in sixth, are a further point back.
With the finish line in sight, fans and pundits have been debating which teams will secure their spot among Europe's elite. Wales boss Craig Bellamy and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher had a difference of opinion on the Reds' chances when discussing the matter on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football. Bellamy said: "Would we all like to see Forest (qualify)? We all have a soft spot for Forest; I grew up in the 80s with Brian Clough, so how could we not?
