LICENCE FOR TAP ROOM AND MUSIC AT FIRM'S HEADQUARTERS

- By JOE LOCKER

Go-ahead for site to hold events for up to 1,500

AN events business has been given a licence to host art shows, food markets, and festivals for up to 1,500 people at its HQ in Nottingham.

Gorilla Events Ltd, which was set up in the city 20 years ago, is looking to hold events from its premises - called Out Nottingham - in Jesse Boot Avenue, Dunkirk.

The firm has managed bar operations, staffing, and venues at some of the country's largest events, including the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Glastonbury.

Managing director Dan Baxter told a Nottingham City Council Licensing Committee meeting yesterday that the company was now looking to host its own events in the city. It currently uses the premises in Jesse Boot Avenue as offices and a warehouse.

Gorilla Events HR director Lisa Hundt-Baxter said they were asking the council for a licence to host events such as art shows, a tap room, food markets and gallery displays for up to 1,500 people.
