Fury over new road 'chaos'

BUSINESSES REELING OVER ANOTHER MONTH'S WORK ON A60
FURIOUS businesses are reeling over the announcement of a new four-week closure on a busy main road.
Cadent Gas is currently replacing pipes between Sherwood and Woodthorpe, work that began last October.
The latest work has closed several lanes of the A60 Mansfield Road, while part of Nottingham Road was shut completely in Daybrook.
The work has led to heavy congestion around the junction with Thackeray's Lane, Woodthorpe, which has caused some bus services to divert.
Now signs announcing a four-week closure in Thackeray's Lane from April 7 to May 2 have appeared.
Adrian Rowley, owner of Dayclear Lighting opposite the junction, said the ongoing disruption meant he was seeing fewer customers.
"We have seen a footfall decrease in the last couple of weeks.
