FRUSTRATING DAY FOR REDS AS HAMMERS CLAIM SHOCK VICTORY WITH LATE GOALS

HEAD coach Nuno Espirito Santo lamented a “shocking” performance as his Nottingham Forest team were on the end of a 3-0 thumping at home against West Ham United yesterday.

- By SARAH CLAPSON

The Reds were well below par as they fell to their first defeat of the season at the City Ground. It had looked as though three excellent saves from goalkeeper Matz Sels would rescue his team but Jarrod Bowen and Callum Wilson scored either side of a Lucas Paqueta penalty to punish the hosts.

It was a result and performance that had come out of nowhere, following a fine start to the campaign for Forest. Nuno pulled no punches in his assessment of a disappointing day.

“I’m upset. I’m very upset. We are all upset. The players are upset, we are upset, our fans are upset,” said the Portuguese.
