Nottingham Post
|September 24, 2025
IT is a huge week for Nottingham Forest as they prepare for their return to the European stage.
Three decades have passed since the Reds last tested themselves on the continent. Tonight, a new adventure begins as they get their Europa League campaign up and running.
A trip to Spain awaits for Ange Postecoglou’s men, with a clash against Real Betis (8pm). It is set to be quite the occasion and one Forest fans have been waiting for for a long time.
It continues a busy period for Postecoglou since his appointment as head coach as the games continue to come thick and fast. With plenty happening, we take a look at the latest goings-on Trentside.
Transfer talk
The summer transfer window has not long since closed but already attention is beginning to turn to January. It hasn’t taken long for the Forest rumour mill to kick into gear.
According to Brazilian publication Bolavip, the Reds are eyeing up Flamengo defender Leo Ortiz. It is claimed an offer is expected from Forest ‘in the next transfer window’.
Flamengo, apparently, accept it ‘will be difficult’ to hang on to the 29-year-old. He is said to have already attracted European interest.
Ortiz joined Flamengo from Red Bull Bragantino in March 2024 and has been a key player for them since.
