SEAN Dyche admitted it was a case of after the Lord Mayor's Show for Nottingham Forest as they suffered a 2-0 defeat away against Bournemouth yesterday.
The newly-appointed Reds head coach was frustrated by the hosts' opening goal as they scored from a corner that should not have been given. But overall, he felt his team fell flat after Thursday's Europa League victory over Porto.
Beating the Portuguese outfit in midweek was Forest's first win in any competition since the opening day of the season. But they failed to build on that on the south coast amid a largely lack-lustre display at the Vitality Stadium.
"We were searching for the idea of whether they would flatline a little bit after such a big result - the old after the Lord Mayor's Show. There was the noise (after Thursday) and a bit of relief among the players after getting a good result," said Dyche.
