CAUGHT WITH DEVICES AND CAR KEYS
THIS drunk burglar hid in a bush in a failed bid to escape the police before telling them: "My mate made me do it.
Nottingham Crown Court heard how Nathan McCarthy - possibly with others - ransacked a room on the Clifton Campus of Nottingham Trent University.
After being caught, the soon-to-be father claimed it was a friend, and not him, who had carried out the break-in and then held a knife to his neck and made him take the stolen items.
Imposing a 10-month jail term, suspended for 18 months, on the 21-year-old, pictured, of Clifton,
Judge Steven Coupland said: "The courts are sick and tired of people who break into people's addresses and burgle them. They are sick and tired of people who take things they have worked hard for and they are sick and tired of the mess and upset they leave behind.
