Sending him to a young offender institution for four years, Judge Steven Coupland said: “Drugs and knives are a persistent problem in this city and many cities and a number of young people like to glamourise them.

“It is plain from the drill lyrics you were part of a gang which held those views. Anyone who thinks of glamourising drugs and knives is wrong.

“Drugs ruin lives and bladed articles take lives and that is the risk people take when they take them out.

“You, of all people, should know that because you have a previous conviction for carrying them and you have been stabbed yourself.
