Dismay as axe falls on the Riverside Festival

DECISION 'EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING', SAYS CITY COUNCIL LEADER
NOTTINGHAM City Council's leader says the cancellation of Riverside Festival is "extremely disappointing".
A cutback version of the festival was due to take place at the Victoria Embankment between tomorrow and Sunday.
But the Mellors Group, which provides the funfair that became the festival's sole attraction last year due to council cuts, this week confirmed it would no longer be going ahead.
The global events company was due to operate the only part of the festival, after the council stopped providing the rest of the attractions last year due to budget constraints.
