County council delays work on six major road schemes

SIX road improvement projects have been delayed amid “significant progress” on most of the county’s highway network.

But the Reform UK-led county council says “ongoing programme and financial management” means that six schemes have been delayed by a range of issues.

The projects have only been pushed back by a year in some cases, though other projects are now simply classed as being “under consideration” for highways programmes in years to come.

The council approved a scheme of work under the previous Conservative leadership in March and 54 Nottinghamshire roads were listed as being in line for a full resurfacing with all of those projects having already happened or due to have finished by the end of the financial year. Surface dressing and structural patching were also among the range of highways works approved though and it is some of those projects that have been pushed back.
