Council's 5 'missions' in £20m cash for Carlton

A FIVE-point plan has been unveiled for how a Nottinghamshire council plans to spend £20million on improving a town and its surrounding area.

Last year, the then Conservative government announced the money would be invested in Carlton as part of the towns fund project, which involves a 'town board' being set up to decide how money should be spent over the next decade.

Gedling Borough Council (GBC), which has since appointed a board, has now revealed the ways in which the cash will be spent.

While short of specific details, the authority said the 10-year plan is “most ambitious, community-led transformation programme the area has seen in a generation”.
