NOTTINGHAM City Council could be facing an almost £10m hit to its budget if local NHS cuts go ahead.

The NHS in Nottinghamshire is facing significant financial challenges due to rising demand, inflation and increased operational costs.
The Integrated Care Board (ICB) - which commissions services in the city and county ~ has already made £252m in savings in 2024/25. It is planning a further £282m in savings this financial year.
The cuts have left city councillors concerned that they will be left to pick up the pieces. In Nottingham alone there will be possible £9.7m black hole for services the council jointly funds with the ICB.
Councillor Georgia Power (Lab), chair of the council’s health scrutiny committee, said that other changes have been and could be made further to preventative services - including a frailty service - that could hit the council’s budget.
She said she was unsure what the council's contingency plan was.
