Cosy new bar that's perfect for date night wine lovers
Nottingham Post
|October 20, 2025
COSY, candlelit bar Melo Melo has opened its doors in West Bridgford, serving wine and sharing boards of characuterie and cheese.
With seating for just 34 inside, and a further six outside, the imitate setting has proved an instant hit with wine-loving locals, so much so, that the range of premium spirits and beers have virtually gone unnoticed.
The town's only dedicated wine bar, in Stratford Road, has a 27-strong wine list with four specials that will change over time.
Plans for the future include tastings and pairing events
The six sparkling include Cava from Spain, a classic cuvee brut from Kent and four Champagnes, ranging from £7 a glass to £110 a bottle for Pol Roger 2018 Vintage.
Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc feature in the section of eight whites along with lesser known varieties such as Gavi di Gavi, a dry Italian white from Piedmont.
A classic summery Provence rose appears on the menu, in a range of sizes right up to a £70 magnum while the big bold reds are perfect as the season changes.
