O bless - “to confer or invoke divine favour upon; ask God to look favourably on”.
Last week I was delighted to be part of BLESS Nottingham, organised by Transforming Notts Together.
It was a market-style exhibition of around 30 Christian social action organisations that work in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Churches, charities, the NHS and volunteers all came together to showcase their work, and some held workshops for those who wanted to know more and to answer questions.
Organisations represented included Emmanuel House (working with rough sleepers), Street Pastors (ensuring people enjoying a night out get home safely) and Jericho Road Project (reaching out to those involved in sex work).
It was so encouraging to see how the many Christian organisations are working to bless the city, keeping people safe and bringing hope where people are facing challenging situations.
