WIDOWER SAYS IT WILL HELP THOSE WITH TERMINAL ILLNESSES
NEW assisted dying laws will give the terminally-ill a more compassionate and dignified death, the husband of a Nottingham woman who took her own life has said.
MPs voted to back a bill legalising assisted dying in England and Wales by 23 votes on Friday, June 20.
The bill, which would allow terminally-ill adults with six months or less to live to get medical assistance to end their own lives, will now progress to the House of Lords - where it will face further scrutiny before likely being passed. News of the important vote has been welcomed by Peter Wilson from The Meadows, whose wife Beverly Sand took her own life when he was away in 2022.
