ENGLAND boss Thomas Tuchel has plenty to consider as he weighs up his World Cup options following a successful first year in charge.

The German coach saw his side in action for the final time in 2025 on Sunday, when the Euro 2024 runners-up completed Group K without conceding, with a 2-0 win in Albania.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson left the bench in the 79th minute on Sunday to replace Adam Wharton, while Dean Henderson, who spent part of the 2022-23 season on loan with the Reds, was given a start as first-choice keeper Jordan Pickford was one of the substitutes.

England only have two March friendlies to play before Tuchel names his World Cup squad and, here, the PA news agency takes a look at how the manager likely sees his options.

On the plane: Jordan Pickford (Everton) and Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace)

Hoping for a late ticket: Nick Pope (Newcastle), Aaron Ramsdale (Newcastle, on loan from Southampton) and James Trafford (Manchester City)

Pickford did not concede in eight England appearances this year and will be number one at a fifth major tournament.

Henderson, who had a spell on loan with Nottingham Forest in the 2022-23 season, underlined his role as backup with an impressive display in Tirana. Trafford lacks minutes and was only in this squad this month after Pope withdrew through injury.
