A truly warm reception at new restaurant

IT becomes obvious just how unique Nottingham city centre's newest Asian restaurant, Maki and Ramen, is the minute you walk through the door.
Upon being greeted by a member of staff, a huge drum rings out before all of the staff shout 'Irasshaimase' - Japanese for 'welcome'.
The Scottish chain's new Nottingham branch - its 16th in the UK and second in the East Midlands - officially opened on December 1, specialising in authentic ramen noodle dishes, sushi rolls and Japanese curries.
The vibrant and neon-lit restaurant has opened in the prominent King Street building, which had been empty since pizza and pasta spot Wildwood closed in May 2024.
