Cash for not one but two cuddle beds as appeal smashes target to hit £85k

North Devon Hospice has hailed an outpouring of generosity from residents, businesses and schools after its cuddle appeal smashed its £30,000 target almost threefold.

Launched in February, the campaign aimed to fund a specialist cuddle bed for the hospice’s bedded unit and expand care at home for patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Instead, it has raised enough for not just one but two new cuddle beds, and will also fund a community nurse for an entire year, allowing more people across the region to remain close to loved ones in their final days.
