ONOP aims to strengthen India's global trade presence and promote sustainability
Ports, shipping and waterways minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday launched a series of initiatives, including the 'One Nation: One Port Process (ONOP)', aimed at modernizing India's maritime infrastructure, strengthening its global trade presence and promoting sustainability.
Sonowal launched the initiatives during a stakeholders' meeting to discuss the major announcements made in Budget 2025-26 for the maritime sector.
The ONOP initiative aims to standardize and streamline operations across India's major ports by removing inconsistencies in documentation and processes that lead to inefficiencies, increased costs and operational delays.
