Mint Mumbai
|October 31, 2023
Gentari, the clean energy unit of Malaysia's Petronas, AM Green, established by Greenko's founders, and an affiliate of GIC Holdings Pte Ltd, on Monday agreed to produce 5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of green ammonia by 2030.
In a joint statement, Gentari and AM Green said the partnership will focus on the production of green ammonia across locations in India, with the aim of accelerating efforts to achieve net zero targets in India as well as in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) markets. Exports of green ammonia to key OECD markets, such as Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, are expected to begin in late 2025, it said.
Post-investment from Gentari, GIC, and AM Green, the unit will be a fully funded platform that will invest, in phases, in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh.
