Coal India eyes more thermal plants, in talks with UP, two other states

According to two people aware of the matter, the company is in talks with the governments of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Jharkhand, and Assam for setting up two or three thermal power plants.

One of the two people said some land has been identified in Uttar Pradesh and talks with the state government are in advanced stages. "Talks with Jharkhand and Assam are currently in the preliminary stage and will take another four to five months for a better understanding," said the person.

The second person said: "The plans are in line with the power ministry's road map to install 80 GW additional thermal capacity by 2030." Queries sent to Coal India and the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Assam remained unanswered till press time.

Investors expect AI use to soar. That's not happening

An uncertain outlook for interest rates. Businesses may be holding off on investment until the fog clears. In addition, history suggests that technology tends to spread in fits and starts. Consider use of the computer within American households, where the speed of adoption slowed in the late 1980s. This was a mere blip before the 1990s, when they invaded American homes.
