KTM could not withstand theslowdownin the European premium motorcycle market. Its inventory spiked as sales declined, keeping its capacity unused. In 2024, KTM sold 292,497 motore a 21% decrease from the 372,51 units sold in the previous year. To fuclitsexpansion, thecompany had also taken on total debt of more than $500 million. As income declined, KTM found itself in a difficult position, leading toa bankruptcy filing.
