Bharat Biotech's nasal vaccine ready for new covid strains

Bharat Biotech, Serum Institute of India manufactured billions of doses of vaccines for Indians during the first few waves of the covid pandemic
Bharat Biotech International Ltd, which developed the covaxin vaccine to protect against earlier variants of covid-19, says its intranasal and injectable vaccine platforms are ready to be adapted for new strains of the virus.
India has recorded 5,755 active covid cases in the fresh wave, according to health ministry data issued on Sunday. Four deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 59 this year. Health officials have identified two new JN.1 covid variants as the cause of the fresh wave of the infectious disease.
