PROVO: Robert Redford, one of Hollywood's most enduring figures whose career spanned six decades as an actor, director, activist, and champion of independent cinema, died Tuesday at the age of 89.

His publicist, Cindi Berger, confirmed that Redford passed away “at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah — the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved” No cause of death was disclosed.
