Deocha Pachami: 6 firms, including Polish mining giant, shortlisted

FOR ECO-FRIENDLY UNDERGROUND OPERATIONS
KOLKATA: The West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDCL) has shortlisted six companies for underground coal mining in the Deocha Pachami coal block, located at Muhammadbazar in Birbhum.
Among them is a Polish state-owned enterprise, one of the largest coal mining companies in Europe.
According to WBPDCL sources, a total of six companies have been selected from the global call for participation. One of the key participants is JSW SA (Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa), the Polish company with globally recognised experience in underground mining.
The remaining five are domestic mining firms, some of which are already operational in various Indian states.
