Congress to Appoint 60% Dalit, Backward Caste Office Bearers in District Committees

In a significant organisational move ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Congress party will appoint 60 per cent Dalit and backward caste leaders as office bearers in its revamped district and city committees.
LUCKNOW: The party has also earmarked 20 per cent positions for women, signalling a clear push towards social justice and caste representation.
