PM Modi to launch health, nutrition and development drives on his 75th birthday

A series of welfare and development programmes will be rolled out on Wednesday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its governments at the Centre and in states set to begin a fortnight-long campaign focused on health, nutrition and public service.

The Prime Minister will lead the launch from Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, where he will unveil the “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar” initiative and kick off the eighth National Nutritional Month. According to an official statement, Modi will also inaugurate multiple development projects and address a public gathering.

As part of the campaign, described as the largest outreach of its kind for women and children, over one lakh health camps will be organised across the country. “Daily health camps will be held in all government health facilities nationwide,” the statement noted. The BJP has also planned complementary activities, such as blood donation camps and health checkup drives, to coincide with the campaign.
