Rail haulage holds potential for shorter delivery times & reduced freight costs
The government, on Saturday, announced the arrival of the first-ever rail shipment of industrial salt in the Kashmir Valley from Gujarat.
The 1,350-tonne shipment, coming from Kharaghoda (KOD) Railway Station and arriving at Anantnag (ANT) Railway Station, is a landmark achievement in boosting the logistical and industrial connectivity of the region.
Authorities stated the growth reflects an emerging trend towards multi-modal logistics optimisation within the Union Territory.
