Cong: 1,050 acres of land in Bihar's Bhagalpur 'gifted' to Adani as BJP defeat in state imminent

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Monday accused the Modi government of giving away 1,050 acres of land in Bihar's Bhagalpur to the Adani Group as a "gift" for setting up a power plant, claiming that this was done as the BJP realised that its defeat in the upcoming Assembly polls was "imminent".
There was no immediate reaction from the Centre, the Bihar government or the Adani Group on the allegations.
Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters here, the Congress' media and publicity department head, Pawan Khera, claimed that whenever the BJP feels that it will lose an election, "gifts" are given to businessman Gautam Adani beforehand.
