NEW DELHI: The Indian Army resumed patrolling at Demchok on Friday, marking a significant step in restoring normalcy along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
This development follows the recent disengagement of Indian and Chinese troops at two key friction points—Demchok and the Depsang Plains—after years of military standoff.
Army sources confirmed that patrolling at Depsang is expected to recommence shortly, pending final arrangements. On Wednesday, Indian and Chinese troops completed the disengagement process, restoring the areas to a pre-April 2020 status.
