Rains to persist as 'amihan', easterlies affecting parts of PH
Manila Bulletin
|December 16, 2025
The northeast monsoon or amihan and the easterlies continue to bring rains to parts of the country, while the chance of a tropical cyclone forming remains low, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, Dec. 15.
Two weather systems are affecting the country—first is the northeast monsoon. The amihan winds are relatively strong and will continue to affect a large part of Luzon, bringing rains, particularly over Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region)," PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said.
