MGen expedites low-carbon push

Meralco PowerGen Corp. (MGen), the generation arm of Manila Electric Co., is accelerating its low-carbon expansion, securing an engineering contract for its biggest solar farm in the country while advancing a hydrogen-ready gas power project in Singapore.
In a statement on Friday, Oct. 24, MGen’s domestic unit, Terra Solar Philippines, Inc., disclosed it had secured key Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts for the South Block of its flagship 3,500-megawatt peak (MWp) solar and 4,500-megawatt hour (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS) facility.
