Manila gov't takes over Jones Bridge Light Show Project

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso formally accepted the turnover of the Jones Bridge Light Show Project from the Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) to the city government on Friday night, Dec. 12, vowing to introduce more attractions and events that will delight the public.

The turnover ceremony was attended by FFCCCII President Victor Lim and Vice Mayor Chi Atienza.

The light show project is part of the ongoing revitalization of the Pasig River under the “Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli” (Revive Pasig) or PBBM Project, a flagship program of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s administration aimed at bringing new life to one of Metro Manila's iconic waterways.

First launched in June, the colorful display highlights the bridge’s architectural beauty and historical significance, transforming it into a vibrant cultural landmark every weekend.

Now under the the city's operation, Domagoso promised Lim and the FFCCCII that the city government will take care of the project and further expand it to increase the number of people visiting and investing in the city.

He added that boosting the city's economy will encourage more businessmen to invest in Manila, which, in turn, will generate more jobs for Manileños.
