Instituto Cervantes' Pelicula Spanish film festival returns to Makati

The much-anticipated Pelicula> Pelikula Spanish Film Festival is set to return to Makati from Oct. 10 to 16, 2025, celebrating its 24th edition at the Ayala Triangle Gardens and Power Plant Mall.

Since its inception in 2002 by Instituto Cervantes, Pelicula has become a beloved annual cinematic event in the Philippines, showcasing the richness and diversity of Spanish-language cinema.
This year's festival will feature over 20 acclaimed films from Spain, Latin America, and the Philippines. The opening night on Oct. 10 at Ayala Triangle Gardens will present “El 47” (Marcel Barrena, 2024).
Throughout the week, audiences can enjoy a wide range of genres: dramas: “Soy Nevenka” (Icíar Bollaín, 2024), “Nosotros” (Helena Taberna, 2024), documentaries: “Un hombre libre” (Laura Hojman, 2024), “La guitarra flamenca de Yerai Cortés” (C. Tangana, 2024), and animations: “Mariposas negras” (David Baute, 2024), and “Robotia” (Diego Cagide & Diego Lucero, 2024).
