If he repents, forgive him

Jesus continues to teach his disciples as he journeys toward Jerusalem. He warns them that temptations are everywhere.

Out of the blue, they come to us to make us do what is against our will or against God's will. Thus, we commit sin. They also manipulate and seduce us; thus, we give in to our weaknesses and addictions. They prevent us from becoming true followers of Christ.

Jesus wants us to get rid of these evil elements in the community. These evil elements spoil God's effort in us to become Christlike. Jesus also teaches his disciples to forgive our erring but repentant brothers and sisters. Sincere repentance and forgiveness lead the sinner to do better. Can we help the offender become a better person and a follower of Christ?
