EdukSine honors 'Alamat ng Sine Filipino'

Still basking in their beautiful late 50s, 80s love-team partners Snooky Serna and Gabby Concepcion delighted in an instant reunion April 26 at the UP Film Center in a celebration of Philippine cinema.

The onscreen sweethearts graced the screening of one of their many films together, Miracle of Love, one of two films celebrated by EdukSine that day. EdukSine founder and CEO Karen Jane Salutan-Krukover said Miracle of Love, produced by GC Films in 1982, is an underrated drama film by Elwood Perez that deserves a second look to benefit today’s younger generation.
Shot mostly in Lourdes, France, Miracle of Love pays homage to the Filipino tradition of keeping one’s faith in the face of adversity. The late Roxanne Abad Santos, a leukemia victim, co-starred with Snooky and Gabby in the film.
Prior to the screening, EdukSine presented the former screen partners the Gawad Alamat ng Sine Filipino award.
