13 rescued, 5 of them minors, in anti human trafficking operation in Taguig

Police operatives rescued 13 people, including five minors, from a spa in an anti-human trafficking operation in Taguig on Sept. 17.

The Taguig police launched the operation at a spa located in Barangay New Lower Bicutan after receiving a report.

Authorities arrested two suspects identified as Rafael, 39, spa owner; and Riza, 35, co-owner and massage therapist.

They will face charges for violating Republic Act 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003) as amended by Republic Act 10364 and Republic Act 11862 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act).
