118 Filipinos rescued from scam hubs due for repatriation

One-hundred eighteen Filipino human trafficking victims rescued in scam hubs in Southeast Asia are awaiting repatriation, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
According to the DFA, the embassies "are always ready to provide repatriation assistance and are closely coordinating with the authorities.”
Six are in Cambodia, 75 in Myanmar, seven in Laos, and 30 in Thailand. Fourteen out of the 75 Filipinos in Myanmar are being processed for transfer.
On Wednesday, July 16, the DFA said that it continues to receive reports of Filipino human trafficking victims inside different scam centers in Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia.
