DIANNE BOURNE TAKES AFTERNOON TEA INSIDE CITY'S STOCK EXCHANGE HOTEL

As dining rooms go, there can surely be none quite so dramatic as the one found inside Manchester’s Stock Exchange Hotel.

Walking into the city’s historic former financial hub, with its black and white floors and marble arches, already sweeps you into a bygone era.

But once inside the dome-roofed restaurant space, Tender, well it really does take your breath away. It has been home to a few restaurant incarnations in recent years here, but now under the stewardship of Michelin Star maverick Niall Keating we have an understated take on fine dining.

Indeed, some might say the restaurant has been overshadowed in recent months by the very starry guests that have been making the Stock Exchange Hotel their home. For it’s been quite a year for this luxury enclave, co-owned by Manchester United legend Gary Neville and welcoming the likes of Noel and Liam Gallagher, Bruce Springsteen and Nicki Minaj to name but a few.
