A MEMORIAL statue of beloved actress and comedian Victoria Wood has been reinstated months after it was destroyed in a bizarre car crash.
The Victoria Wood statue was unveiled in 2019, three years after the TV star's death. It stood in Church Gardens, off Silver Street in Bury town centre, for five years as a tribute to her legacy, but was knocked out of the ground in a collision in June last year.
Images showed a car, said to have been a private hire taxi, wedged up in the air on the statue's concrete plinth.
