'Grass verge' sells for £63k

A “GRASS verge” on a quiet back street has been sold for £54,000 more than its guide price.

The 0.15 acre patch of land on Kershaw Street in the Deane area of Bolton had a guide price of just £9,000, but at auction the successful bidder paid £63,000.

Auction House North West, which handled the sale, described the area in marketing material as a “plot of land which appears to be part grass verge, part amenity land extending to approximately 622 m2 in a predominantly residential area”.
